Le Velature

If Renaissance wall paint fascinates you, then you should try Le Velature from the Antiche Terre Fiorentine line. Playing off of its semi-transparent properties, this decorative paint exalts the structure of the wall itself. It allows you to create a wide variety of wondrous chiaroscuro effects depending on the tool you use (glove, brush, sponge or rag), and it will make the walls of your house look and feel attractive; you’ll actually think you are touching a soft fabric!
Le Velature offers a practically unlimited range of colours that can be gauged by the amount of product you use, therefore enabling you to create the perfect shades to transform your home into a cosy space filled with wonder and warmth.
Characteristics
Le Velature is a decoration of the Antiche Terre Fiorentine Candis line, belonging to Le Classiche family. Averagely transpiring and ecologic, it is based on selected pigments and resins of a very high technological quality in a watery solution. The decorating cycle foresees the wall application on a white ATF base as supplied and over it, spread Le Velature added to the ATF toner, with brush, glove, sponge or cloth, to create the desired tonality. To get an excellent result, the white ATF base must be applied with a pasting brush, a roller, or spray with the appropriate compressor. Two coats are advisable, the first by diluting with 20-25% water, and the second with 15-20%.
After applying the base, the mixed LeVelature can be spread with the choice of a quarter, half, one or two toners. If the 19 or 20 (Gold or Silver) powdered toners are used, it is advised to dilute the decoration with 1 or 2 glasses of water per tin.
Preparation
Before proceeding with the decoration, make sure that the ATF white base is totally dry.
Pour the chosen toner into the tin of Le Velature and mix accurately with a spatula or with a mechanical mixer until the two are totally blended together.
Using a Candis ATF brush, glove, sponge or cloth, spread the decoration, working it with alternated and crossed intervals, making sure to pull it well to avoid accumulation.
It is advised to proceed without interruptions, so as to avoid passing over the already spread decoration again.
